Rockhampton Rustlers win Central Division title

The Rocky Rustlers have won the 2022 Central Division Title after downing a very good Bundaberg Bears outfit. The boys got off to a rocky start in the tournament with a lot of drop ball and silly penalties in the first match against Wide Bay Rangers. eventually they found their composure and pulled away for their first win. The next match that afternoon saw the Rocky boys take on competition favourites Sunshine Coast Falcons. The match saw the Rustlers score first which would later become their lifeline. The game was back and forth and both sides had missed opportunities, but at the end of the match it was 8 all. The rules regarding a draw in the Round Robin format is that the first scorer progresses into the final. So Rockhampton marched on. The Final saw arguably the best two sides of the competition facing off for the first time. Both sides went on a mission to destroy each other physically and all witnessed a fantastic showing, but in the end The Rustlers pulled away with a win with a much more professional showing of themselves, the final score being 24 – 16.
